10 Steps to SUBVERSIONing

1.To dump file from other server

svnadmin dump /srv/svn/projxHotCopy > file1.dump

2.To create a new repository

svnadmin create --fs-type fsfs /srv/svn/projZ

3.Create a SVN User

vi  /srv/svn/projZ/conf/svnserve.conf

4.Use the following configurations

anon-access = none
auth-access = write
password-db = passwd

5.Create a password file:

vi /svnrepos/conf/passwd

6.Add user as follows:

user = password

7.To load from a dump file do as follows:

svnadmin load /srv/svn/projZ < file4.dump > log.txt

8.To checkout the repo to a client / working project do:

svn co svn://repos/svn/trunk path/to/project

9.To use existing project and just changing the svn server

svn switch --relocate http://svn/myfunkyproj svn+ssh://svn/myfunkyproj
