Anything about Ubuntu, Centos, openSuSe and Fedora
In windows, there are various program that can stream video loopback and act as a camera or webcam. In Linux previously you can use AVLD and Vloopback, but I’m having trouble compiling them using kernel 2.6.31 on Karmic (Ubuntu 9.10). But luckily, I’ve found this great tool which is much better then the previous, it’s called WebCamStudio .
Here’s an excerpt from sourceforge.net info.
“WebcamStudio helps you create a virtual webcam that can show: – Your webcam that won’t work with Flash site – Your desktop with your webcam in overlay – Your desktop/webcam with several video effects – You in all your glory! Compatible with Flash sites!”
It’s easy to use and very user-friendly.
Done.
Thanks! this one is nice!
Nice info.. thx 4 sharing.
does not seem to work in Ubuntu 11.04, any fixes coming?
The developer has stopped development. And installing in Ubuntu 12.10 seems to be downright impossible Then when it IS installed, doesn’t operated. Just “hangs” when starting. Very dissapointing since i’ve made the switch to linux thinking i had a good list of software to replace what i was using in Windows.
Dosnt seem to work on anything, and isnt maintained anymore (the guy wants to do other things)
updated advice for 2013? and latest LTS?
doesn’t work. Can’t find a suitable source. I’m baffled.
